I love making rice in the slow cooker because I can plan ahead when it will be done and it stays hot in the pot until my meal is ready. This is a blend of lemon peel, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, turmeric and long grain brown rice. A refreshing change from potatoes or box side dishes. Makes 4 servings. Net wt. 8oz (226g)-

1 Package Souper Spices-Lemon Herb Blend
2 TB butter, margarine or X-virgin olive oil
2 C water or stock
Preheat slow cooker on high and use a small amount of butter to grease crock. I like to use a spray oil like Pam. Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. For a healthier version, I use the olive oil. Cover and cook 2-3 hours on high.
**Stove top directions: Combine all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan along with 2 ¼ cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil. Place a lid on top and reduce the heat to the lowest simmer. Simmer covered 45 minutes or until done.
