Souper Spices Bouquet Garnis Blend- This a basic stock starter of lovage, marjoram, parsley, thyme and bay leaf Use this in any stock based soup or when stock is add. Basic directions: Use one tablespoon in stocks, stews, soups, and sauces. Sprinkle on meats, fish, poultry and pasta. When I get down to the ends of my vegetables or leftover meat, I throw it into a bag and freeze it. It makes an interesting combination of vegetables and no waste. Everything is in the cupboard. Here are some ideas.
½ c celery
½ c peppers
½ c carrots
½ c onions
½ c parsnips
½ c cabbage or greens- even lettuce
½ c beans
½ c peas
½ c corn
½ c zucchini
3 cloves garlic
2 red potatoes- skin on
1lb of chicken or beef or ham (salt pork or hocks)
1 28oz can tomatoes
2 c cooked macaroni or 1c rice
4 quarts chicken or beef broth
1Tbsp. Souper Spices Bouquet Garnis Blend
2 bay leaves
Salt and pepper
Place any combinations of veggies in a large pot (if you add all the ingredients you may have to add more liquid) bring to boil and simmer until done. Serve with garlic bread.
